ROBERT MAGEE
Only a year after I began painting, I was in a long line up at the art supply store in Calgary and managed to be waiting behind Robert Magee. We instantly began chatting about art and after half an hour, he invited my Mom & I to his art studio to see his paintings. I must say, that normally we never go back to the studio of a man we had only just met in a large city like Calgary but we felt comfortable and were so eager to see his work, that we never gave it a second thought!! I left his place with my mind full of inspiration and my arms full of art supplies and art books that he no longer needed!
We instantly became friends and he has been so good to me. He phones me on a regular basis just to keep me in line and make sure that I am in the studio working hard (all artists need that once in a while)! Being an artist is always an adventure and it is great to have a fellow artist in your life that understands what the adventures are all about!
