SHANE GARTON

When I met Shane, there was an instant bond and we shared the same passion for art.  We didn't have much time together, as he and his wife Edith were moving to Tasmania.  On our last evening together before he left, Shane and I went into my studio and he decided to teach me absolutely everything he knew about art...IN FOUR HOURS!!!!  Sometimes I feel like my head is still spinning from that night!!  I learned so much from him and somehow everything he taught me in that short period of time...sunk in!  The amazing thing is that with someone like Shane teaching you, the lessons keep going on and on.  I was recently looking through one of my art books when I saw an amazing painting and one of the things that Shane had taught me years before...FINALLY made sense to me....I got it!!  Wow!  Art really is an adventure....just gotta take a line for a walk, as Shane always says!  Shane helped open the door to a whole new area of art that I had never experienced before.  I can't thank you enough Shane!
